Introducing Dayforce Build: If you can describe it, you can build it
Turn unique workforce needs into Dayforce-native solutions. Use plain language to create apps, bots, and documents on the same HCM foundation as HR, payroll, workforce management, talent, benefits, planning, and analytics.

When your systems can’t keep up, your people are left to patch the gaps.
A new labor agreement changes how you staff shifts. An acquisition adds three sites and their own approval chains. Absences spike in one location, and nobody sees the pattern until the schedule breaks.
The work still needs to get done. So your teams turn to spreadsheets, inboxes, and disconnected tools. They build workarounds outside the systems meant to support them, creating more manual effort and bypassing the controls already in place.
Today at Dayforce Discover 2026, we’re introducing Dayforce Build, a conversational, AI-powered development experience that will help you close those gaps without adding more disconnected technology.
Dayforce Build will help customers and partners turn unique workforce needs into Dayforce-native solutions. Describe what you need in plain language, then create, refine, test, and publish apps, bots, and documents. Each solution will run on Dayforce, using the data, permissions, governance, and controls already in place.
“If you can describe what your business needs, you can build it. That’s Dayforce Build.”
David Ossip, Founder and CEO, Dayforce
How is Dayforce Build different from a standalone low-code tool?
General-purpose low-code tools may require organizations to connect HR data, map permissions, and establish security controls. With Dayforce Build, that foundation is already in place.
-
The same trusted foundation across your HCM lifecycle. What you build runs on the single platform and data model that already supports HR, payroll, workforce management, talent, benefits, planning, and analytics. Apps can use live Dayforce data, helping reduce the need for an additional copy of employee data to sync or secure.
-
Your permissions come with it. Apps use each user’s own Dayforce identity and permissions.
-
It looks and works like Dayforce. Apps use Everest, the Dayforce design system, and the experience adjusts automatically for phone, tablet, and desktop.
-
It’s designed for change. Apps connect through published APIs, which can help reduce dependence on a specific Dayforce page or menu.
At Dayforce, we use Build ourselves. In fact, our teams used it to help create Dayforce Command Center for Frontline Operations, a single place where frontline managers can manage their people, priorities, and day. It brings key work that needs attention into one manager experience, helping managers prioritize, understand what matters, and act.
What you can create with Dayforce Build
Authorized customers and partners will be able to create Dayforce-native workforce apps, Dayforce Bots, and documents using the data, permissions, governance, and controls already in place.
Create custom workforce apps
Describe the workforce need, who’ll use the app, and the outcome you want.
For example: “Create an app to help me track my team's safety certificates.”
Build then plans the app, creates each screen, and shows your progress in a live preview.
Keep the conversation going to add a screen, change a layout, or connect a button to an action. Start with realistic sample data, then connect your Dayforce account. The same app can show live data without requiring a rebuild when configured to do so.

Refine the experience through conversation, then test and publish it when it’s ready.
You can also:
-
Embed live Dayforce modules, such as timesheets
-
Bring in data from supported external systems through approved APIs and plugins, including Jira, Salesforce, and ServiceNow
-
Add tables, charts, and summary tiles that people can filter and act on
-
Add an AI-enabled experience that answers questions using the app’s data and asks for approval before taking action
What could that look like? A manager app that shows unplanned absence patterns by employee, location, day, and shift. Or a workspace that brings together the tasks, data, and guidance a team needs during an acquisition or seasonal ramp-up.
Automate recurring workforce processes with Dayforce Bots
With Dayforce Build, organizations can create Dayforce Bots: personalized AI teammates for the processes unique to their business. Bots can complete work in Dayforce and across connected systems, either on a schedule or in response to an event, so routine work doesn’t depend on someone being online.
For example, a bot can watch for defined payroll exceptions, bring potential issues to the right person, and wait for review before any action happens. You decide what a bot handles and what comes back to a person.
How are bots different from Dayforce AI Agents?
Dayforce AI Agents are developed and maintained by Dayforce. They apply specialized HCM intelligence to help people reason, act, and complete multi-step work across Dayforce.
Bots are created by customers in Dayforce Build for processes unique to their business. Both can use Dayforce data and operate within the permissions, business rules, governance, and controls that apply to the work.
Create workforce documents
Create employee letters, manager summaries, and process documents from approved templates and Dayforce data. Build can update and translate them, too. For example, it can translate a policy guide into Spanish and save the new version to your project.
How does Dayforce Build manage security, permissions, and governance?
Dayforce Build works within Dayforce security and governance from the first draft to the published app, using the identity, permissions, approved data access, and controls already in place.
-
Credentials stay on the server. They never appear in app code or the browser.
-
Write actions are limited to what each app defines and checked every time someone uses them.
-
Administrators can turn off write actions. When they’re off, Build shows that clearly and never fakes a successful result.
-
Builders assign roles, so each person sees only the screens and actions meant for them.
-
Build works within the Dayforce products you’ve licensed and the access your people already have.
Business experts can shape the solution, while your IT and security teams keep governing how software gets deployed.
Who can use Dayforce Build?
Dayforce Build is designed for HR administrators, back-office teams, and qualified partners. You don’t need to write code to describe a business need and build from there.
Organizations decide who gets builder access. For more complex projects, they can involve IT, security, or partner teams to help shape and govern the solution.
Find reusable solutions in Dayforce Marketplace
Dayforce Marketplace is a trusted destination where organizations can explore, install, and manage reusable apps, bots, documents, and more created by Dayforce, partners, and customers.
Customers and partners who want to publish solutions can access Dayforce Build Academy, a training and certification program designed to support quality, scale, and value across the Dayforce community.
Build what’s unique. Find, install, and manage what’s already available.
Part of the Dayforce Agentic HCM Platform
Dayforce Build is part of the Dayforce Agentic HCM Platform, a more open, connected platform with native AI woven throughout.
Together, the platform helps organizations get answers, take action, complete work, and build what’s next for their businesses. Dayforce Build gives customers and partners a way to extend that single HCM foundation for workforce needs unique to their organization.
