Today’s organizations are facing a complexity crisis. With an explosion of different types of work and workers, a mismatch between skills and roles, and ever-changing compliance, it’s never been more challenging to unlock the full potential your workforce.

So much of the conversation around our changing world of work focuses on office-centered topics like hybrid work and quiet quitting. Yet, it’s estimated that 70-80% of the workforce doesn’t sit behind a desk [1].
Our latest research set out to explore how the complexity crisis affects frontline workers, managers, and executives in different ways. In the findings, a pattern emerged that showed a significant gap between managers’ – aligned closely with workers – and executives’ perceptions. We uncovered a real opportunity for organizations to zoom in on frontline managers and empower them to drive productivity, efficiency, and make work life better.
