Dayforce Biometric Notice for Employee Identity Verification
Table of Contents
Effective Date: September 8, 2026
This Notice explains how Dayforce (“Dayforce,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and destroys biometric information in connection with identity verification for certain employees in elevated-risk positions and other employees when Dayforce requires additional identity proofing for security, fraud prevention, or access control purposes.
1. What we collect
To verify your identity, Dayforce may collect and use biometric information derived from a live facial image or video selfie, including a facial scan, face map, template, or similar digital representation of your face.
We may also collect:
- an image of your government-issued identity document;
- the photo on that identity document;
- verification results;
- limited device, network, and audit information needed to complete and document the verification process.
2. Why we collect it
We collect biometric information only to:
- verify that you are the person identified on the identity document you present;
- confirm liveness and help prevent impersonation or fraud; and
- complete required identity proofing for designated access, role assignment, or elevated-risk employment conditions.
3. How the process works
Dayforce uses HireRight’s Global ID with Biometrics service to conduct this verification. HireRight uses Yoti to perform the biometric liveness check and compare your live facial image to the photograph on your identity document.
4. No other uses
Your biometric information will not be used for:
- timekeeping, attendance, or measuring hours worked;
- monitoring, surveillance, or evaluating your performance or productivity;
- making automated employment decisions;
- ongoing or repeated authentication after your credential is issued; or
- training, developing, or improving any artificial intelligence or machine learning model.
5. Retention and destruction
Any biometric information held by Dayforce, including by HireRight or Yoti on Dayforce’s behalf, is retained only as long as needed to complete the verification and is permanently destroyed no later than three (3) months after the verification is completed, subject to Dayforce’s written agreement with those vendors and any applicable legal hold or legal preservation obligation.
After destruction, Dayforce may retain only a non-biometric record that the verification occurred, including the date, the method used, and the result. That record does not contain biometric information.
6. Disclosure and sharing
Dayforce discloses biometric information only to HireRight and Yoti for the limited purpose described in this Notice, and only as necessary to complete the identity verification process.
Dayforce will not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your biometric information.
Dayforce will not disclose or re-disclose your biometric information to any other person or entity unless:
- you consent in writing;
- the disclosure completes a transaction you requested or authorized;
- the disclosure is required by state or federal law or municipal ordinance; or
- the disclosure is required pursuant to a valid warrant or subpoena.
7. Security
Dayforce and its service providers use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect biometric information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
8. Your choice and alternative process
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have the option to use an alternative, non-biometric identity verification process. If you would prefer not to provide biometric information, please contact TalentAcqSupport@dayforce.com to find out whether an alternative process is available to you.
Where an alternative process is required by applicable law, choosing that process will not result in adverse employment action or affect your compensation, benefits, or other terms and conditions of employment.
