The impacts of climate change are being felt around the world. For Dayforce, climate action shapes how we operate and how we support our customers. It’s embedded in how we make decisions, invest in our operations, and build resilience for the long term. Our climate strategy is designed to deliver meaningful reductions now, pursuing ambitious, science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions by 2029 from our 2019 baseline.

We are on track to meet our targets. From 2019 to 2024, we reduced our operational Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 87% (location-based) and by 98% with our renewable electricity purchases (market-based). We have seen significant progress on our value chain emissions target with a 55% reduction in emissions intensity per gross profit from purchased goods and services, business travel, and employee commuting over the same time frame.

How climate progress supports the people and places we serve

In addition to reducing emissions, we’re creating tangible benefits for the people and communities connected to Dayforce.

  • Reducing our environmental impact: Lowering emissions helps limit our contribution to climate change and supports healthier, more resilient communities.
  • Supporting our customers: As sustainability expectations and regulatory requirements continue to evolve, we strive to demonstrate what responsible, transparent climate action can look like and help contribute to our customers’ sustainability goals.
  • Strengthening markets and communities: Through renewable energy and carbon removal procurement, we support emerging climate solutions and market development efforts in regions where we operate.

When climate action is done thoughtfully, it creates value that extends well beyond our operational boundaries.

A milestone moment: Our highest CDP Climate Change score to date

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system. They apply a rigorous methodology to evaluate disclosure quality, risk awareness, environmental management, and evidence of best practice.

This year, Dayforce received an A- score from CDP for Climate Change, our highest score to date. This rating places Dayforce in CDP’s Leadership level, reflecting strong governance, strategy, and execution across our climate programme.

Key climate programme progress includes:

  • Securing third-party validation of our climate targets from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
  • Maintaining 100% renewable electricity sourcing globally on an annual basis since 2022.
  • Continued improvement in the accuracy and rigour of our GHG inventory, supported by annual third-party verification.
  • Deeper supplier engagement through our Responsible Sourcing Initiative.
  • Advancing our approach to business travel emissions through an internal carbon fee and investments in high-quality carbon removal.
  • Assessing and disclosing climate-related risks and opportunities aligned with leading global frameworks.

While a score is only one measure of success, this recognition reinforces that our strategy and actions are moving in the right direction — and that transparency and accountability remain core to our approach to climate progress.

What’s next on our climate journey

As our climate programme continues to mature along our path to meeting our 2029 targets, Dayforce remains focused on sustained, measurable progress.

Maintaining annual sourcing of 100% renewable electricity across our global operations as we grow is a key priority. We’re also prioritizing supply chain engagement, working with vendors to increase transparency and supporting meaningful emissions reduction strategies beyond our direct operations. At the same time, we’re focusing on reducing business travel emissions through our internal carbon fee and travel policies, which incorporate sustainability, employee well-being, and business needs.

In parallel, we’re procuring high-quality carbon removal to address emissions that can’t yet be eliminated and to support market development, amplified through third-party collaborations. Finally, we’re exploring ways to further integrate sustainability into our products and offerings, aiming to minimize environmental impacts while continuing to deliver value to our customers.

Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to continuous improvement as we address today’s climate challenges and prepare for those ahead.
