Dayforce Wallet Privacy Statement – Canada

Scope
Dayforce Wallet is a program by Dayforce, Inc. (“Dayforce”) that lets employers offer their employees ways to access their pay, on-demand. This Privacy Statement describes our general practices for the collection, use, and sharing of the personal information you provide to Dayforce when you create a Dayforce Wallet Account, when you download the Dayforce Wallet Application (“App”), the data relating to your use of the Dayforce Wallet App, or when you use our Direct to Bank feature.
Our services are not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you are under the age of 13, do not use the services. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information.
The Personal Information Dayforce Wallet Collects
Directly From You
Dayforce Wallet collects personal information directly from you when you create a Dayforce Wallet Account, download, and/or use the Dayforce Wallet App, or when you use our Direct to Bank feature to send your pay to the bank of your choice, such as:
- When you create an account, we collect your e-mail address, address, city, state/province, and ask you to create your username and password.
- When you contact our customer support center, we collect voice recordings or chat transcripts.
- Any other information you choose to provide to us.
- Use of the Dayforce Wallet App and services made available through it.
Dayforce also collects personal information directly from you or your Dayforce Employee Account when you create a Dayforce Wallet Account and for identify verification purposes which may include:
- Your name, address, city, state/province, date of birth and occupation.
- We also collect your government identification number for tax reporting purposes, only where applicable by law.
From your Employer
Your employer may share information such as compensation, wage, and/or tip information when needed to deliver the service.
From our Financial Institution Partners
Our financial institution partners may share bank information as described by their Privacy Policy. This may include aggregated/deidentified transactions information that we will not attempt to re-identify. Bank information may be used to analyze the use of our services, improve, support and service your account, as well as for fraud detection and security purposes.
How Personal Information is Used
Dayforce uses personal information to:
- Deliver the services to you, and to maintain your Dayforce Wallet App Account, including verifying your identity and providing you with support.
- Personalize your experience while using the Dayforce Wallet App.
- Send general and/or personalized marketing communications and research surveys related to Dayforce Wallet, the Dayforce Wallet App, and ancillary products and services.
- If you decide you do not want to receive these marketing communications, you can opt-out by clicking the “unsubscribe” link provided at the bottom of every marketing e-mail.
- Send informational communications such as satisfaction surveys and product alerts.
- Improve the Dayforce Wallet App and ancillary products and services.
- Develop new products and services, in which case, Dayforce will only use de-identified personal information.
- Detect fraud and comply with data protection legislation, information security requirements, and other legal requirements.
How Personal Information is Shared
Financial Institution Partners
We share personal information with our financial institution partners to enable and provide services at your request. To learn about how they handle personal information, please review their privacy statements made available on their site or through your agreement.
For example, if you request a Dayforce Wallet Card, or ask us to share your information with your bank, we will share your information with our financial institution partner for the purposes of opening up the account and to meet regulatory requirements such as, if applicable, identity verification, Anti-Money Laundering monitoring, fraud prevention, sanctions screening, or, where applicable by law, for tax reporting.
As these financial institutions (such as NIUM) are independent controllers of the personal information shared with them, please review their privacy statements made available on their site or through your agreement to learn how they handle such personal information.
Your Employer
Dayforce Wallet may share wage transfer information such as transfer amount and date with your employer for reconciliation purposes.
Service Provider
We share personal information with companies or individuals that help Dayforce deliver improve, personalize, support, and market the services or provide Dayforce with services, such as those who help us prepare and distribute communications, to assist and respond to your inquiries, and those who provide hosting, accounting, security, and fraud prevention services.
Subsidiaries and Affiliates
We share personal information with subsidiaries and affiliates of Dayforce in support of the uses described above.
Business Transaction
If Dayforce, or any portion of our assets, are acquired, sold, or transferred, Dayforce will share personal information with the new company involved.
Law Enforcement
We may share information with law enforcement agencies about activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, or that will aid a law enforcement investigation into unlawful activity. In addition, we reserve the right to release your personal information to law enforcement agencies if we determine, in our sole judgment, that the sharing of your personal information will protect the rights, property, or safety of you, Dayforce, or another person.
Legal Process and Proceedings
We may share your personal information with others as required by law. This includes sharing your personal information with governmental entities, or third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, other legal processes. We may also share your personal information if we believe doing so is necessary to exercise our legal rights, to defend against legal claims that have been brought against us, or to defend against possible legal claims that we determine in our sole discretion might be brought against us.
How Personal Information is Protected
Dayforce has put in place policies and procedures to safeguard your personal information. We use industry-standard security measures that match the sensitivity of the data. Our security policies are regularly reviewed and updated to stay effective. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from risks like loss, theft, unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, and destruction. The methods of protection include physical measures, organizational measures, and technological measures. We require all third parties that receive your personal information to also maintain strong safeguards in line with applicable laws. Your personal information may be stored and processed in Canada and the United States. We ensure that any data transferred outside of Canada is protected with the same level of security as if it were stored within Canada.
Retention of Personal Information
Dayforce will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as required for legal, fraud, and security purposes. At the end of the retention period, Dayforce will securely delete your personal information. If there is any personal information that we are unable to delete entirely, we will put in place appropriate measures to prevent its further use.
How to Exercise Your Rights
You can view, access, update, and correct your personal information within the Dayforce Wallet App. You may also have rights to:
- Request the deletion of your personal information. However, note that to delete your Dayforce Wallet information you may first need to delete any associated bank account.
- Withdrawn consent, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information.
- Have your personal information transferred to another organization.
Individuals can submit requests for any of these rights here or by emailing privacy@dayforce.com.
As required by law, we will require you to prove your identity. We may verify your identity by phone call or e-mail. Depending on your request, we will ask for information such as your name and contact information or a signed declaration confirming your identity.
If you wish to designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf, do so here. We will require verification that you provided the authorized agent permission to make a request on your behalf.
Individuals can raise concerns or file complaints here. Dayforce will investigate all complaints and take appropriate action to remedy any issues. If you are unsatisfied with the handling of any privacy complaint you may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
